Sweden will provide Ukraine with 1 billion Swedish crowns ($ 94.4 million). This was announced by Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Andersson at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleboy, BBC reports.
“You protect our European values and the world order based on international law. This is our duty and honor for us to support you. And that is why my government will provide new packages of Ukraine’s assistance with a volume of 1 billion Swedish crowns,” Andersson said .
According to the Prime Minister of Sweden, first Ukraine will receive a military assistance package for 500 million Swedish crowns. This money will go to the needs of the Armed Forces. Andersson did not specify what would be included in the military aid package, but noted that he would look like the previous one. He included anti -tank weapons, personal drugs and equipment for clearance.
Another 500 million Swedish crowns will be aimed at economic support and restoration of Ukraine. Sweden will also purchase Ukrainian grain to convey it to the countries facing a lack of food, which, according to Stockholm, will help the Ukrainian economy.
Andersson emphasized that Sweden will support Ukraine as long as military operations continue.
