Sweden shares fears of Turkey in field of security – Senator

The Sweden government shares Turkey’s concern in the field of security voiced by Ankara in connection with the intention of Stockholm to join NATO. This was stated by the leader of the republican minority in the Senate of the US Congress Mitch MacConnell.

“I believe that Sweden leaders understand and respect the interests of Turkey in the field of national security,” wrote a policy on Twitter following a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Washington.

The senator emphasized that the entry of Sweden NATO is responsible for the interests of the Alliance.

“Senate (USA) hopes and expects Sweden to become an ally of NATO to the summit (alliance) in Vilnius in July,” he added.
