Uzbekistan and Switzerland signed an agreement on the return of assets frozen in the Swiss banks of the daughter of the first president of the Republic of Islam Karimov – Gulnary Karimova, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Justice said.
On behalf of Uzbekistan, the agreement was signed by the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov, on behalf of Switzerland – the president of this country Injacio Kassis.
“The signing of the Agreement marks the immediate return of 131 million dollars to the people of Uzbekistan, previously illegally acquired by an organized criminal group, headed by Gulnara Karimova and legalized in Switzerland,” the report said.
