The Ministry of Defense of Syria initiated work on cleansing the districts of the civilian population in the Syrian province of Hama.
In the clearance operations, which are carried out in the villages of Hamamim and Jilim in the north of the Hama province, specially prepared units take part. Memilling work that began on April 10 with the involvement of technology sent from Turkey, will last in general for three days.
In an interview with anadol correspondent, Abdulkadir Naif, one of the participants in the operation conducted by the 98th armored division of the Syria Ministry of Defense, said that the sappers revealed a large number of plots with many mines established by representatives of the overthrown regime.
He noted that in a number of areas the sappers had to manually cleanse mines, and explosive devices buried in the ground – using special clearance machines sent from Turkey.
“We are currently working in the Hamamimi area. Our goal is to make these areas completely safe and guarantee that people will be able to safely return to their homes and villages,” Naif said.
