Syrian Foreign Minister Was Invited To Azerbaijan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiev in Damascus met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Provisional Government of Syria Esaad Hassan Shebani.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Rafiev, who arrived at Damascus for negotiations, met with Sheybani.

He handed over to Sheybani congratulations from the leadership of Azerbaijan in connection with the onset of a new era in the stability of Syria, the well -being of the people and the coming to power of folk representatives. He emphasized that Azerbaijan, together with Turkey, supports Syria in this new important period.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, that Azerbaijan will provide all kinds of support in the process of restoration of Syria.

According to him, Azerbaijan will provide the necessary support for the new Syria administration on a diplomatic basis, as well as in the form of humanitarian aid. Rafiev said that experience in the field of restoration and reconstruction in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the occupation can be applied in Syria.

Sheybani emphasized that Azerbaijan’s liberation from the occupation is important for establishing peace and stability in the world, and congratulated the Azerbaijani people.

Having emphasized that the coming to the power of the people in Syria is as important as the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh, Sheybani said that the main goal of the new administration was to live in peace with neighboring countries and achieve national unity through dialogue with all parties within the country.

The minister noted that the former regime left behind a country destroyed and isolated from the world community, emphasizing the importance of socio-economic development, national and political unity within the country and increasing the influence of Syria in the international arena.

The parties agreed to open a new page in a long -interrupted relationship between Azerbaijan and Syria in the direction of cooperation and friendship.

Rafiev said that Azerbaijan plans to resume the work of the Azerbaijani embassy in Damascus after a 12-year break.

He handed over to Sheybani an invitation to visit Azerbaijan, which was gladly accepted.
