In Minsk, an inaugural meeting of the Council of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states took place. As a result of the meeting, Tajikistan accepted the chairmanship of the Commonwealth in 2025. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
The meeting was held under the leadership of the permanent authorized representative of Tajikistan at the CIS of Bakhtovar Safarzoda.
The event was attended by the Secretary of the CIS, employees of the Executive Committee, ambassadors of the participating countries and representatives of foreign policy departments.
The Head of the CIS Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, said that within 2025 it is planned to take 113 events as part of the chairmanship of the republic. He emphasized the significance of the experience accumulated by Russia during its chairmanship, noting that Dushanbe would take into account the developments presented by Moscow.
Saidmurodzoda also shared the details of discussions on migration and labor regulation in the CIS space.
According to him, despite the presence of disagreements on a number of points, the Tajik side intends to activate negotiations to develop agreed decisions.
According to the statement, there was a thorough exchange of views on the substantive filling of the meetings of the charter bodies of the Commonwealth held in Tajikistan in Tajikistan, the main of which will be a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on October 10, 2025 in Dushanbe.
