Russia is in constant contact with the authorities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on the issue of Afghan refugees. Their number can achieve hundreds of thousands, said in a conversation with RIA news authorized by the Russian Foreign Ministry on human rights, democracy and the rule of law, departure of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Gregory Lukyantsev.
“We are in constant contact with those states that are directly bordering on Afghanistan. This question is definitely much worries them first: it is Tajikistan, Uzbekistan,” said Russian diplomat.
Lukyantsev stressed that the situation constantly evolves, and the authorities of countries understand how Ostra is this problem, from the experience of past years. Then States had to attract the resources of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, reminded Lukyantsev, adding: “The task is very difficult, and some kind of forecasts are very difficult to build.”
