Tajik’s power structures are conducted by the “anti-terrorist operation” in the east of the country-in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the press center of the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
“Members of an organized criminal group to destabilize the socio-political situation illegally blocked the international vehicle of Dushanbe-Kulma on the road section in the Rushan district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region directly on the line of the state border,” RIA Novosti quoted the statement of the press center.
“In this regard, in order to ensure the safety of citizens, public order and restore unhindered movement of vehicles on the Dushanbe International Road – Kulma on a section of the road in the Rushan district by the law enforcement agencies of the country, the anti -terrorist operation began,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The press center notes that the criminals, with the support of international terrorist organizations, received weapons and ammunition outside Tajikistan, and also attracted foreign mercenaries to carry out terrorist attacks and other provocations.
Recall that a few days ago, in the Gorno-Badakhshanskaya Autonomous Region of Tajikistan, hundreds of residents reached the protest, demanding the resignation of the head of the region and mayor of the city of Khorog, the removal of all checkpoints in the regional center and the cessation of the persecution of the inhabitants of Badamshshan. Protesters gave the authorities time to consider their requirements until 16:00 on May 16. After the authorities of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region refused to consider the resignation of the head of the region and the mayor of Khorog, calling the requirements of the protesters illegal, on Monday, May 16, a large group of local youth headed towards the regional administration. In response, law enforcement officers of Tajikistan used rubber bullets and tear gas. During overclocking by law enforcement officers of the procession of residents of Khorog, the 30-year-old local resident of the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that “during the operation, special tools were used to disperse the demonstration.” According to the law enforcement agency, a criminal case has been instituted against the organizers of the incident prosecutor’s office of GBAO.
