Tajikistan Signed Memorandum Of Stabilization Of Border Areas

In Dushanbe, a ceremony of signing a memorandum on mutual understanding between the Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Committee (COMP) of Tajikistan, the representative office of the European Union (EU) and the agency of the Han Khan on Habitat, was held, Avest reported.

The document enshrines the cooperation of the parties aimed at developing infrastructure and increasing readiness for emergency situations.

Signatures under the agreement were set by the chairman of the COO of Tajikistan, Colonel General Rajabali Rahmonali, the head of the EU representative office in the country Raimundas Karoblis and the head of the agency of the Aga Khan for Khabitat Umed Kalandar.

The program is planned to build a shelter for emergency placement of the population in the case of natural or technogenic disasters, the creation of two modern sports grounds for the development of social initiatives and improve the living conditions of youth.

The project will be carried out at the expense of the EU in the amount of 3 million euros.

Project value for the region

According to the CCC, the shelter will be built in the Sogdian region, which will provide additional protection of the population in case of crisis situations.

New objects will not only increase the level of security, but also create spaces for social integration and educational measures.

“Modern infrastructure will allow you to quickly respond to natural disasters, provide a temporary asylum to the victims and provide support to the local population,” the COOs emphasized.
