Tallinn received the right to hold children’s games of 2025 under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee, reports the news Internet publication Delfi.
Last week, the president of International Children’s Game Igor Topole and the Secretary General of the organization Hugh Waters examined the city’s sports facilities, and also met with the leadership of Tallinn for a detailed discussion of the event.
“International children’s games organized in cooperation with the Estonian school of school sports while Tallinn will wear the title of the European capital of sports, contribute to the popularization of youth sports and open the doors of Tallinn youth for competitions with peers from different countries. Games will take part in games. Almost 1800 young people from all over the world, ”the vice -mayor Tieit Terik.
He expressed confidence that Tallinn would be an ideal place for this significant sports event.
“with our rich experience in organizing international sporting events, focused on both amateurs and on industrialists, and more than a thousand sports facilities, we are ready to make games unforgettable for all participants,” Terik added.
The first children’s games took place in 1968 in the goal (Slovenia) and since then became a prestigious event for young talents. This year, almost 1900 schoolchildren from 90 cities of 25 countries participated in the games that took place in TEGU, South Korea. Next year, the Tallinn delegation of young athletes will take part in games in Leon (Mexico) competing in 3×3 basketball, tennis, swimming, taekwondo and volleyball.
International Children’s Games will be held in Tallinn from August 3 to 8, 2025.
