Deputy Minister of Economics and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhomzhon Umbrzakov held a meeting with representatives of the delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Development and Technology of Poland Mikhal Yaros.
The Polish delegation included Deputy Minister of State Assets, Deputy Chairman of the Department of Medicines, Business Ombudsman, President of the Agency for Investment and Trade, as well as leading specialists of specialized departments and business circles of Poland, the Uzbek state media reported.
Negotiations were devoted to strengthening and expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The parties discussed wide areas of mutually beneficial economic cooperation, including privatization issues, the banking sector, the pharmaceutical industry, geology and other spheres. The Polish side expressed readiness to exchange experience with Uzbekistan in these directions.
The Uzbek side showed interest in studying the experience of Poland in the field of development of the regions, as well as increasing energy efficiency.
At the end of the meeting, the Polish side expressed an active interest in attracting investments in various sectors of the Uzbekistan economy, creating joint ventures and introducing advanced technologies. This, in turn, will contribute to the creation of new jobs and increase the competitiveness of economies of both countries.
This meeting was an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and opened up new opportunities for in -depth cooperation that contributes to stable economic growth and increase the standard of living of the population of both countries.
