Tashkent Discussed Importance Of Non -alignment Movement In International Relations

as part of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Azerbaijani parliament organized the fourth conference of the parliamentary network of non-alignment movement in Tashkent.

According to the Uzbek state media, the conference was attended by the chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic of Sahiba Gafarov, the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Tanzila, Tulia Exos, the MDS Secretary General Martin Chongon, as well as representatives of parliaments of the countries – members Non -components.

The event was chaired by Sahiba Gafarova, who heads the parliamentary network of non -alignment movement.

The topic of discussion was “The 70th anniversary of the Spirit of Bandung: the role of parliaments in the support of the principles of Bandung”.

Conference participants emphasized the increasing significance of the non -alignment movement in modern international relations.

It is noted that the organization was created in order to establish fair, equal and based on mutual respect for relations between states.

Uzbekistan, as an active member of the movement, consistently promotes key principles in foreign policy – refusal to use force or threat of force, ensuring the territorial integrity of states and non -interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

Speaking at the conference, Narbaeva noted the importance of deepening inter -parliamentary interaction in counteracting challenges related to geopolitical instability, climatic changes and global economic shocks.

It is emphasized that the development of inter -parliamentary initiatives, the creation of joint committees and active participation in international forums contribute to strengthening mutual trust between countries and the formation of agreed decisions on the issues of a global agenda. According to the results of the conference, a Tashkent declaration was adopted.
