In Tashkent, negotiations of business circles from Turkey and Uzbekistan took place.
According to the Ministry of Trade of Turkey, the meeting was organized by the Union of Exporters of Turkey (TİM) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (TPPU).
The meeting was attended by Turkey’s ambassador to Tashkent Olgan Bekar, the deputy head of the TPPU Islam Zhasimov, and a member of Tİm Ismail Yilmaz, as well as entrepreneurs from Turkey and Uzbekistan.
The ambassador, who performed at the meeting, noted that friendly and trusting relations between the presidents of Turkey and Uzbekistan contribute to the development of strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all sectors.
According to Bekar, today, entrepreneurs of Turkey and Uzbekistan act as ambassadors of friendship and partnership.
The ambassador noted the presence of great potential for the development of cooperation between Tashkent and Ankara. “The heads of our states set a goal – to bring mutual turnover to 5 billion dollars a year in the near future. We intend to make every effort to achieve this goal,” the diplomat assured.
The representative of Tİm Ismail Yilmaz, in turn, noted that 35 Turkish companies operating in 11 different industries take part in the meeting. The goal is to deepen trade ties with fraternal Uzbekistan, he said.
Yilmaz recalled that Uzbekistan is the 31st in a row the largest trading partner in Turkey, in 2022 5 730 Turkish companies exposed their goods to this country. “We intend to further strengthen the connection with Uzbekistan in the coming period, the economy of which is growing annually by an average of 5 percent,” he said.
Following the meeting, representatives of Turkish and Uzbek companies held bilateral negotiations.
