In Tbilisi, a solemn event was held in honor of the 15th anniversary of SOCAR activity in Georgia.
President Socar Rovnag Abdullayev, Minister of Sustainable Development and Economics of Georgia Natia Tournava, Mayor Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze, Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Georgia Faik Guliev and other officials.
Speaking during the event noted that SOCAR is the largest investor in the oil sector of Georgia and the largest taxpayer in the country. It was said that the Azerbaijani state company demonstrates high social responsibility, and its projects strengthen friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Rovnag Abdullayev handed several employees the “Honorary Oilman” icon and letters. Also awards were presented for strengthening friendship between two countries, youth integration, protection of historical heritage, etc.
It is worth noting that SOCAR carries out oil transportation to Western markets through the Coolev oil terminal, created in 2006 and owned by the state company.
SOCAR ENERGY GEORGIA LLC through its subsidiaries is operating 112 petrol stations, 16 service centers and 5 oil terminals. SOCAR ENERGY GEORGIA carries out the wholesale and retail sale of petroleum products from Azerbaijan and third countries in Georgia. The company is engaged in the supply and distribution of gas to the regions of Georgia, and also manages local gas networks.
Since 2008, the number of subscribers served by SOCAR Georgia Gas has increased from 78 thousand to 808 thousand.
