The best platform for negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia is located in Georgia, says the first vice speaker of parliament George Volsky.
“We have special relations both with Azerbaijan and Armenia. There are many people of Armenian and Azerbaijani nationality in Georgia, and the best platform for negotiations of these two parties is in Georgia,” the Georgian media quotes Volsky.
According to him, the role of Georgia in the settlement of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia is of particular importance, especially if it supports the international community.
Earlier, President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the panel discussion held in Davos as part of the World Economic Forum, said that Azerbaijan proposed a tripartite format of negotiations in Georgia, but Yerevan refused. The next day, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan said that Yerevan is considering the idea of a meeting with the participation of the heads of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.
