Tbilisi Police Applied Vodtets Against Protesters Near Parliament Building

In Georgia, protests continues against the decision of the ruling party “Georgian Dream” to suspend negotiations on joining the European Union until 2028.

The Georgian security forces ousted the protesters from the territory in front of the parliament in Tbilisi, applying vodometes.

Demonstrations, which began against the decision of the Georgian government on November 28 on the suspension of negotiations on the entry of the country to the European Union, continued on the fourth day.

The Georgian parliament building demanding the resignation of the government and the holding of new elections at night gathered thousands of citizens.

Participants of the action came to the building of the legislative body with the flags of Georgia and the European Union, threw stones and various objects in front of the parliament and launched pyrotechnics.

In response to the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, they began to disperse the demonstrators by applying the waterlets. Protest promotions are ongoing. Strict security measures have been taken in the area of ​​the parliament building, ambulances and medical brigades are on duty.

Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that participants in protest promotions violate the rules and called on parents to remove their children from the rally of opposition supporters near the parliament building in Tbilisi.

Protest promotions continued on the fourth day

Protest shares began in Tbilisi and other cities of Georgia after the statement of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that the republic will not begin to negotiate in the EU until the end of 2028.

On November 28, Kobahidze said that some European politicians intervene in the internal affairs of Georgia and blackmail Tbilisi with grants. “Taking all this into account, we decided not to raise the question of the start of negotiations with the EU for discussion until the end of 2028,” said the head of the Georgian government.

In protest against the decision of the government, residents of other cities go to the streets.

Georgian media write that after the government’s decision to suspend European integration of Georgian ambassadors in the USA, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Bulgaria and South Korea, they resigned from their posts.
