The Teknofest Aviation and Space Technology Festival will open its doors for fans of science and technology for the seventh time. This time – in Istanbul.
Aviation, astronautics and technology festival has been held on an annual basis since 2018 by joint efforts of the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technologies of Turkey. Companies and organizations contributing to the technological development of the country are actively supported by the undertaking.
The Teknofest holds technological competitions, aviation shows, concerts, discussions on various topics and many other interesting events. The purpose of the festival is to attract the interest of society, especially young people in technologies, increase awareness of modern developments and achievements of Turkey.
Teknofest – this is also a chance for hundreds of thousands of people interested in technologies of young people to realize their dreams, participating in various competitions.
The first two years – in 2018 and 2019. The festival was held in Istanbul. Then it was decided to alternate the Teknofest schedule: to hold a festival in a metropolis for one year, and the next one in another city in Turkey.
So, in 2020 the festival was held in the city of Gaziantep in southern Turkey, and in 2021 the festival again opened its doors for technology lovers in Istanbul. The site for the festival was the Ataturk Airport.
In 2021, 35 contests in different categories were organized as part of the festival. Applications for participation were submitted by 44,912 teams and 200 thousand participants from all over Turkey and 111 other countries. The Honorary Guest Teknofest was Aziz Sanjar, a Turkish bio-chemist, Nobel Prize laureate.
Last year, the Teknofest festival was first organized abroad – in the capital of the fraternal country of Azerbaijan – Baku, in the territory and near Crystal Hall.
As part of Teknofest in Azerbaijan, ten competitions were organized in which 1,010 teams took part. In general, 5,636 people submitted applications.
Later, in the same year, from August 30 to September 4, Teknofest took place on the territory of the Samsun city airport in the Black Sea region of Turkey. The application for participation in 40 technological competitions of the festival was submitted by 154 teams from different parts of Turkey and 107 countries of the world.
Teknofest this year will take place immediately in three cities of Turkey – Izmir, Istanbul and Ankara, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the republic’s proclamation.
