Ankara (AA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs caused a temporary attorney in Russia in Tehran in connection with the final statement of the participants of the VI session of the Russian -Arab Cooperation Forum (RAFS), which took place on Wednesday.

As the Foreign Policy Department of Iran notes, the temporary attorney was awarded a note of protest “in connection with a statement of the forum on the belonging of the three islands in the Persian Gulf, which are the subject of the territorial dispute between Iran and the United Arab Emirates.”
Due to the fact that the Ambassador of the Russian Federation was absent in the country, the temporarily attorney in the affairs of Russia in Tehran was called to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
According to this information, the ministers of the foreign affairs of Russia and the Arab countries that took part in the next RAFS session, in particular, emphasized “support for all peaceful efforts, including initiatives and efforts to achieve a peaceful solution to the islands of Big Tomb, Small Tomb and Abu -Mus in accordance with the principles of international law and the UN Charter. “
In the Iranian Foreign Ministry, it is emphasized that the assistant director of the Department of the Persian Gulf of Persian countries reminded the Russian diplomat “On the need for respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, which are the basic principles in the system of interstate relations.”
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the constant sovereignty of Iran over the three islands in the Persian Gulf and emphasized that the Iranian government rejects any claims of any party in this regard as unacceptable,” the department said.
