Iranian temporary President Mohammad Mokhbir and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of developing relations between the two countries.
According to the written application of the Iranian Presidential Administration, a telephone conversation was held between Mohammad Mukhbir and Aliyev.
During the conversation, President Aliyev expressed condolences in connection with the death of President Iran Ebrahim Raisi as a result of the helicopter crash and expressed solidarity with the people of Iran.
Mentioning the consultations that he held with Raisi during the last meeting, and the agreements between the two countries, Ilham Aliyev said that the parties agreed on the resumption of the work of the Azerbaijan embassy in Tehran in the near future.
Iranian, temporary President of Iran Mukhbir, thanked the government of Azerbaijan for the solidarity manifested by him in connection with the death of Raisi and the officials accompanying him, noting that the Iranian people have inextricable ties with Azerbaijan.
Mukhbir emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached between the two countries during the last meeting of the presidents.
He said that regional security can be ensured only by cooperation between the countries of the region. According to Mukhbir, the presence of foreigners in the region will lead to a lack of security in the Caucasus.
Ilham Aliyev, in turn, said that Azerbaijan will be committed to regional cooperation and prevent the presence of foreign forces in the region.
