The National Georgian national football team, which arrived from the Vake region on Liberty Square on an open bus, met numerous citizens on the streets.
Due to the large crowd of people, the main streets were closed, the bus was able to overcome a 6-kilometer route in only an hour and a half.
Football players were enthusiastically met by Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobahidze and tens of thousands of people.
Prime Minister congratulated the Georgian national team, who first participated in the championship and released in the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024.
Kobahidze noted that the Georgian government will continue to support the development of football.
The president awarded the signs of the players of the national team and officials of the Georgian Football Federation.
Speaking here, the coach of the National Football team Willy Sanyol said that Georgia will fight for the first time in its history for participation in the 2026 World Cup.
The ceremony in Tbilisi ended with fireworks.
The team returning to its country yesterday morning was solemnly met by fans who came to the Tbilisi International Airport.
