Texkem caves in Turkey, the history of which dates back to the ancient Stone Age, is very popular among tourists.
Archaeological Valley in the vicinity of Samsun, where the caves are located, 300 thousand people visited last year.
In 2022, to create even more comfortable conditions for guests in Tekkek, the project “Pedestrian paths and observation terraces” was implemented.
In an interview with the Anadolu agency, the head of the local municipality Hassan Togar said that throughout history in the territory where Tekkeki caves are located, representatives of 14 civilizations lived.
According to him, this is a place where for the first time in history, multi -story housing appeared.
He added that traces of ship ropes were also found in the caves.
The head of the municipalite said that the archaeological valley was designed as an archaeological museum in the open air, with the placement of historical artifacts and elements of life of ancient times.
Togar said that it is currently planned to resume archaeological excavations in Tekkekhe.
“We strive to introduce it to the world and our country both the cultural heritage of both Turkey and all of mankind,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
He noted that interest in Tekkek is growing day by day.
“Over the past year, we have accepted 300 thousand tourists. For the convenience of visitors, pedestrian paths have been created here. We are currently thinking about creating a zone free from the road, which will pass through the middle of the valley,” he said.
The head of the municipality also spoke about plans to create Malaya Venice on the territory of the Valley.
