The Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel flew to Moscow with a short-term official visit, in which she will hold the latter in its current status negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Deutsche Welle writes that negotiations of German leaders and Russia are scheduled for 15:00 (MSK) and, as expected, will last for about two hours. The joint press conference of Merkel and Putin is scheduled at 5:30 pm, after which the German Chancellor immediately departs to Berlin.
Earlier, the official representative of the Government of Germany Steeffen Zabert said that the Merkel’s visit program to Russia “is very dense, concentrated on communicating with the Russian president.” It is expected that within the framework of the International Agenda, the consequences of Afghanistan’s seizure of Afghanistan by the movement of the Taliban, as well as the implementation of the Minsk agreements on Donbass.
In addition, the topic for the discussion will be the further fate of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline and the warranty of Russia regarding the preservation of gas transit through Ukraine. Merkel also plans to discuss Putin’s situation in Belarus. Most likely, part of the time will be given the political situation in Russia.
