Iraqi rescuers on Sunday tried to free at least six pilgrims, who found themselves under the rubble after the landslide collapsed at the shrine of the Muslims in the central province of Karbela.
After the Saturday disaster, three children were saved, rescue services said, adding that they are in “good condition” and are watching them in the hospital.
But there are fears that from six to eight people are still under the wreckage of the sanctuary known as Kattarate al-Imam Ali, the representative of the civil defense of Navas Sabah Shaker said AFP.
Rescue teams that worked at night under the spotlights were able to provide people who were under the rubble, oxygen, as well as food and water, the State Information Agency Ina.
