The World Health Organization (WHO) is going to update its guide to accounting for gender issues to declare that “the floor is not limited only to men or women,” the organization’s official statement of July 12 said. This is written by Russian “Izvestia”.
The organization noted that the first publication of the leadership dates back to 2011, now the WHO has decided to update it for healthcare managers in connection with the emergence of new scientific data and “conceptual progress in the field of gender, health and development.”
The new leadership will be updated “Key concepts related to the Gender”, as well as the concept of intersectionality, which explores how the “dynamics of gender power” interacts with other hierarchies of privileges or adverse conditions, which leads to various results regarding the health of these people.
In the new leadership of WHO, it plans to “go beyond binary approaches to the gender and health to recognize gender and sexual diversity or ideas that gender identity exists in a continuum, and the floor is not limited to male or female”.
