To aid of Ukrainian children: Dmitry Muratov sold a Nobel medal for a record price

The Nobel Money Medal of the 2021 Nobel Prize, the editor -in -chief of Novaya Gazeta, Dmitry Muratov, was sold at an auction for $ 103.5 million (98.4 million euros). This was reported on the website of the American trading house Heritage Actions, which led the auction. The name of the buyer is unknown.

All proceeds from the sale of awards, according to a trading house, will be sent to the UN children’s fund (UNICEF) to help Ukrainian refugee children and their families. Trading took place in New York and were timed to the World of Refugees, which is celebrated on June 20.

As the media write, this became the highest price of the Nobel medal in the history of the prize.

Dmitry Muratov became the first citizen of Russia awarded the Nobel Prize of the World. Muratov announced his intention to sell the medal back in March, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
