Despite all the efforts made, conflicts continue in many regions of the world.
This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev, speaking at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
“We urge all parties to look for a diplomatic solution to conflicts on the basis of the UN Charter and generally recognized norms of international law,” Tokaev said.
According to him, the essence of the threat proceeds from the simultaneous erosion of the fundamental principles of international law embodied in the UN Charter.
Tokaev noted that the destruction of these pillars lies with an ever -difficult burden on the existing system of international relations and gives rise to confrontation.
The Kazakh leader added that the practice of non -compliance, suspension and exit from key international legal documents causes extreme concern, because it can lead to a non -return point.
“This situation violates the operation of the trading system, weakens the supply chains that are the engine of the economy, and also damages food security and accelerates inflation,” he stated.
The politician noted that the young generation “no longer believes that the world that they inherit will be better.” “Therefore, Kazakhstan considers it necessary to again declare his unshakable commitment to the principles of the UN Charter,” the president emphasized.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed concern to the recent acts of the desecration of sacred books.
According to him, such barbaric actions regarding Islam or any other religion cannot be perceived as an expression of freedom, freedom of speech and democracy. “All sacred books, including the Qur’an, deserve legal protection against vandalism. Finally, the culture of the world can only be based on the principles of unity in diversity and mutual respect,” the president emphasized.
In this regard, he focused on the significant role of the congress of world leaders and traditional religions held in Astana.
