President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev assured a colleague from Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev that the Kazakh side will make every effort to ensure a comprehensive and objective clarification of all the circumstances of the crash of the passenger aircraft Azerbaijan Airline (azal) near the city of Aktau.
According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, a telephone conversation of Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was held.
Presidents exchanged condolences and expressed words of support to family members and relatives of the Azerbaijan Airlines that died as a result of the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan.
“Kasim -Zhomart Tokaev shared information on the progress of the special state commission to investigate the incident and assured that the Kazakhstan side would make every effort to ensure a comprehensive and objective clarification of all the circumstances of the airline,” the report said.
In turn, Ilham Aliyev thanked the Government of Kazakhstan for the prompt measures to search and rescue work and the provision of emergency assistance to the victims.
The parties agreed that the government structures of the two countries will be in close contact during the investigation of the circumstances of this tragic incident.
The crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft in Kazakhstan
The Azerbaijan Airlines Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Azerbaijan airline, which operated on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed on December 25 near the Kazakhstan city of Aktau. On board the aircraft were 67 people, five crew members and 62 passengers.
As a result of a crash, 38 people died, 29 people survived.
