The People’s Republic of China is of particular importance for Kazakhstan. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev at a meeting with the chairman of China Xi Jinping as part of a visit to China.
“Our cooperation is based on unshakable friendship and mutual support. We have a common goal – the intensification of bilateral relations. We are also united by the desire to strengthen regional and international security and cooperation. For us, the further development of the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership with China”, – said Tokaev, whose words are given by the press service of the Kazakh leader.
According to him, today China is one of the key trading partners of Kazakhstan.
“According to the results of last year, the volume of mutual trade reached a record level over 30 years – more than $ 31 billion. I believe that at such a pace, in the near future we will be able to achieve the goal of bringing the trade turnover to $ 35 billion. Therefore, I propose to outline a new bar of 40 Billions of dollars by 2030. To achieve this goal, we could expand the nomenclature of mutual trade, ”the president said.
The Head of State noted that Kazakhstan is interested in expanding the export of agricultural products to China.
“Kazakhstan is ready to supply legumes, high -quality environmentally friendly chilled beef meat, lamb,” Tokaev said.
Further, the President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the fact that the realization of economic potential largely depends on the transit and transport sphere.
“Tomorrow online launch of the construction of the Logistic Center in the dry port of the city of Sian will be another point of growth of our transport and logistics relations. As part of the diversification of transport corridors, I propose to actively use the potential of the Trans -Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM),” Tokaev said.
Further, the head of the Kazakh state drew attention to the fact that Kazakhstan and China adhere to similar positions on basic international issues, and also consistently support international initiatives of both parties.
In addition, Tokaev praised the personal contribution of Xi Jinping to the development of cooperation between the two countries and confirmed the readiness to make all efforts to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
In turn, the President of the PRC thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the acceptance of the invitation and congratulated him on his 70th anniversary.
