“Today we pay tribute to the victims of political repression and hunger. The crimes of totalitarianism left a deep mark on the self -awareness of our people. It is important to continue the study of these gloomy pages of history, restoring justice for all innocently injured. The duty of each of us is to learn the terrible lessons of the past And to do everything possible so that such events do not happen again in the future. We must justify the hopes of our ancestors, who survived during the difficult tests, preserving the unity of the nation and faith in humanistic ideals, ”wrote Kasim -Zhomart Tokaev.
