President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev expressed support to the Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with an earthquake near Istanbul.
According to the press service of the Akorda on Thursday, on April 24, the head of state sent a telegram of support to the Turkish leader in connection with the earthquake in the area of the Marmother Sea and Istanbul.
“Based on the unshakable bonds of centuries -old friendship, fraternity and strategic partnership between our countries, I confirm Kazakhstan’s readiness to provide comprehensive support and assistance to the Turkish people,” the president’s telegram says.
In Istanbul on Wednesday, April 23, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2.
According to the Office for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies under the Government of Turkey (AFAD), the underground tremors were recorded at 12:49 local time.
The epicenter was in the marble sea off the coast of Silivri. The hearth lay at a depth of 6.92 kilometers.
Earthquake was felt in nearby provinces.
