Kazakhstan President Kasym -Zhomart Tokaev held the UN delegation as part of the Deputy Secretary General of the UN – Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission of the UN for Asia and the Pacific Ocean Armida Alisjabana, assistant Secretary General for Political Issues of Miroslavi Enchi and Assistant General of the UN Secretary Zhivkovich.
According to the Akorda press service, the meeting participants discussed the prospects for the development of multifaceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN institutions, and also exchanged views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
Tokaev expressed gratitude to the diplomats for active participation in the International Forum of Astana, noting that their proposals through the prism of the UN activities contributed to the substantial content of this important dialogue site.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the exceptional role of the UN in strengthening peace and ensuring security. He focused on the importance of the comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council and expand the representation of this body.
Tokaev confirmed the adherence of Kazakhstan to unite the UN efforts in order to strengthen the role of this universal organization.
In turn, high -ranking UN diplomats shared their impressions of participation in the Astana International Forum, noting the strategic importance of this site in the development of approaches to solving current challenges of our time
The strategic role of Central Asia was also noted, including in the context of the development of transport and logistics potential and digitalization.
