Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev and a high representative for disarmament of the UN Izmi Namamitsa during the meeting discussed the prospects for comprehensive cooperation of Kazakhstan with the UN institutes in ensuring regional and international security, disarmament and non-distribution of nuclear weapons.
According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, Tokaev was accepted by the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, a high representative for disarmament of the Izumi Namamitsa.
The President of Kazakhstan pointed out the exceptional role of the UN in solving urgent problems of our time and emphasized its non -alternativeness.
“We are taking a fundamental position regarding the disarmament and non -proliferation of weapons of mass defeat. These issues become especially acute and important in the context of events taking place in the world. Of course, this cannot but cause concern. Tomorrow we celebrate an international day of action against nuclear trials. This is a very important date, designed to remind all of humanity about the danger of nuclear tests and the use of nuclear weapons.
Izumi, the Namamian, in turn, highly appreciated the leadership of Kazakhstan in the global process of non -proliferation of nuclear weapons, as well as the growing role of the country as an average power.
