President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, during which he presented the new Minister Ruslana Zhaksykalov. In his speech, to the officials of Tokaev, pointed to the mistakes of the ex-head of the department of Murat Bektanov, Zakon.kz reports.
“The army must be a stronghold of independence and stand guard of the interests of the state. During the January events, the Armed Forces were not able to fulfill the tasks with advantage of them. The Minister of Bektanov did not show commander qualities. Having in By their disposal, the army, which showed good results during command-staff and military exercises, we could not take advantage of her potential in the critical situation and were forced to resort to help from the outside, “Tokaev said.
