President Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev gave two months to develop proposals for the return of illegally derived funds, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan.
“The government is entrusted to a two-month period to provide proposals for the return to the country of the funds illegally exported abroad and the assets acquired there,” Tokaev said on Tuesday on an expanded meeting of the Cabinet.
Previously, Majilis Machant Macsat said that over the past 25 years, about $ 140-160 billion, which is equal to the annual GDP of the whole country and its external debt is derived from Kazakhstan.
