The import of natural gas in March in March decreased by 26.6 percent compared to the same period last year, to 4 billion 557 million cubic meters. This is evidenced by the data of the regulation of the country’s energy market.
Turkey in March imported about 3 billion 70 million cubic meters of gas through pipelines, and 1 billion 487 million cubic meters – tankers in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
During the reporting period, the import of pipeline gas was reduced by 27.7 percent, and the supply of LNG – by 24.5 percent.
Gas import as a whole decreased by 26.6 percent to 4 billion 557 million cubic meters.
In March, Turkey purchased the largest volumes of natural gas from Russia – 1 billion 428 million cubic meters. The following are Azerbaijan – 922 million cubic meters and Iran – 916 million cubic meters.
During the specified period, gas imports from Russia were reduced by 48.2 percent, from Iran – by 25.8 percent. From Azerbaijan, supplies increased by 21.2 percent.
