On Monday, October 11, within the framework of the International Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition, Azerbaijani tourism week started.
During the week, organized by the center of Heydar Aliyev, various events will be held in the National Pavilion of Azerbaijan. The first of them was the presentation of the possibilities of agro- and gastronomic tourism in the country, which was held by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijani Tourism Bureau.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Bureau of Azerbaijan Florian Zengstshmid noted that the exhibition that would last until the end of March next year, is an important platform for demonstrating the vast tourist potential of Azerbaijan. According to him, during the work of the exhibition in the National Pavilion, various events devoted to the popularization of the country as a tourist destination are organized.
During the presentation, the National Tourist Product was also presented – the online catalog “Ark taste” of the international project of Slow Food, which is implemented in the country with the financial support of the European Union and aims at the development of Azerbaijani agro- and gastrotrism.
The design of the National Pavilion of Azerbaijan at the Expo 2020 Dubai is decorated in accordance with his topic – “Seeds of the Future”, and he is located in the thematic zone “Sustainable Development”.
Interactive installation and audio and video materials of the pavilion are devoted to the history of Azerbaijan, its geography, culture, modern art and other topics. It also provides information on the sustainable socio-economic development of the country and innovation in this area, carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and restoration and construction work, which are conducted on the liberated Azerbaijani territory.
As part of the week of Azerbaijan, the presentations of routes by region of the country will also be held: the southern route is called “from semi-desert to dense forests” and covers Baku, Lankaran and Lerik; The northern, called “from the lowest point to the highest,” includes Baku, Hizu, Gusar and Hussar. North-West route from Baku through Shamakha and Ismailla to Gabala called “Ancient Heritage, Amazing Landscapes”, and Western is called “Healing Nature, Inspirational History” and runs through Baku, Ganja, Naftalan and Guegel.
Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition, which opened on October 1, will last until March 31, 2022.
