Toyota Motor recalls 1 million 120 thousand cars around the world due to potential problems with airbags.
The company said that the review will affect several Toyota and Lexus cars produced from 2020 to 2022. Among them: Toyota Avalon, Camry, Highlander, Rav4, Sienna and Corolla, as well as some hybrids of these models.
These cars have sensors on the seat, which were probably made incorrectly. In this regard, the system of airbags will not be able to determine the correct weight of the passenger and, perhaps, will not work in the accident.
It is reported that 1 million such cars were sold in the USA.
Authorized Toyota dealers will check the corresponding sensors and, if necessary, replace them.
Toyota plans to notify customers in February 2024 if their cars are subject to recall.
