The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which belongs to the US National Aeronautics and Space Research (NASA), discovered traces of carbon dioxide on the surface of the largest satellite of Pluto, Haron.
Scientists who examined the Haron using the JWST orbital telescope found on its surface carbon dioxide, which had not previously met on this celestial body.
In addition, the researchers also found traces of hydrogen peroxide compounds on the satellite. It is worth noting that the surface of the largest satellite of Pluto is covered with water ice. This trend was discovered in 2015 using the NASA spacecraft New Horizons.
The study is published in the journal Nature Communications.
