The head of the Investigative Committee (SK) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, announced the need to change the migration policy in the country. With this point of view, Bastrykin spoke at the session “Legal aspects of migration policy in modern Russia”, which took place as part of the St. Petersburg International Law Forum (PMUF-2024)
“The most important thing is to change the migration policy of Russia, to accurately justify the need, and maybe even make the domestic resources solve their political, economic, national and other problems,” he said.
According to Bastrykin, when involving migrants, you should be guided by national security issues.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also noted the importance of synchronization of the procedure for obtaining a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation with simultaneous registration.
“In October 2023, a special group was created in the UK. As a result of the efforts made, more than 30 thousand of the so -called new Russians were registered. 10 thousand migrants were sent to the zone of their (special military operation), he said. P>
In addition, Bastrykin attracted attention to expanding the geography of migration crime.
“A significant number of such crimes are recorded in the Samara and Chelyabinsk regions, in the Altai Territory, in the Yamalo -Nenets AO, Tambov, Kemerovo, Penza and several other regions,” he said.
“It is necessary to develop a mechanism for the functioning of internal migration, providing a decent level of guarantees for compatriots using the experience of the Soviet past,” the chairman of the IC of Russia added.
XII St. Petersburg International Law Forum (PMUF-2024) takes place at the site of the Expoforum congress and exhibition center.
