Trade between Turkey and Iraq beat records

The volumes of mutual trade between Turkey and Iraq reached record indicators. The trade and economic ties of the two countries continue to experience the rise.

The volume of Turkish exports to Iraq in 2022 increased by 24 % compared to the previous year, reaching $ 13.7 billion.

In the same year, the import of Turkey from Iraq increased by 24 % to 10.4 billion dollars, and the volume of trade reached $ 24.2 billion.

Today, 1080 projects in the amount of $ 33.3 billion are implemented by Turkish contracting companies in Iraq. Thanks to this indicator, Iraq took third place among countries where companies from Turkey carry out the largest number of projects.

On Tuesday, August 29, the Minister of Trade of Turkey Omer Bolat, accompanied by a delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs, will go to Iraq on a visit.

Planning meetings of the head of the Ministry of Education of Turkey with Iraq President Abdul Latif Rashid and Prime Minister of the country Muhammad Shia al-Sudani.

Bolat will also hold bilateral meetings with the Iraqi colleague eir Davod Selman al-Grary, the Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Temimom, the Minister of Transport with Mheyibis Al-Sadavi, the Minister of Reconstruction and Housing Bengin Bengin Rekani.
