Trump Hinted At Possibility Of Suspension Of Duties On Automotive Industry

US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of temporary liberation of the automotive industry from duties. This was reported byCBS News with reference to the head of the White House.

Trump said that manufacturers “need for some time” for transferring production from Canada, Mexico and other countries in the USA, hinting that he could temporarily free the automotive industry from duties to give them time to revise their “complex supplies”.

The American leader announced on April 2 that the United States would introduce response to other countries, and announced the basic tariff rates and customs duties that differ depending on the country.

The United States increased duties for Chinese goods to 125 % after China reacted to Trump’s customs policy.

In addition, Trump announced the suspension of additional duties for other trading partners for 90 days.

March 26 Trump signed a decree on the introduction of a 25 % duty on the import of cars and some auto parts.
