Trump Said He Intends To Decisively Continue Application Of Death Penalty

The elected US President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden to replace the death penalty 37 convicted of life imprisonment, saying that he intends to firmly continue the application of the death penalty.

In his statement on the Truth Social platform, Trump called Biden’s decision to replace the death penalty to 37 criminals with a lifelong conclusion without the right to parole. He also emphasized that this decision is a manifestation of disrespect for the families of victims.

“Joe Bayden softened the death penalty for the 37 most terrible killers of our country. Having learned about the crimes of each of them, you will not believe how he could make such a decision. This is a meaningless step. Relatives and close victims can not suffer and cannot believe in what is happening, ”Trump said.

He emphasized that, having taken the post of president, he intends to decisively continue the application of the death penalty at the federal level.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the replacement of the death penalty for 37 out of 40 federal prisoners awaiting the execution of the sentence to life imprisonment without the right to parole.

Biden, emphasizing his position against the application of the death penalty, said: “My conscience will not allow the new administration to resume the death executions that I stop.”

Recall that in 2021 Biden introduced a moratorium on the execution of death penches at the federal level.

At the same time, Donald Trump during his election campaign advocated the application of the death penalty to drug dealers and merchants.
