US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the announcement of the American Bay on February 9, while on board Air Force One during a flight over the Mexican Gulf.
According to the White House, Trump called on civil servants and all Americans to celebrate this date with relevant events and ceremonies.

Earlier, January 20, Trump signed a decree on the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the American Bay. The document noted that in this way the president “makes common sense to the management and updates the foundations of American civilization”.
Google said that in accordance with the updated official data in the service cards, the new name of the bay will be reflected, as well as the name of Mount Denali in Alaska in McCinley.
Google statement specifies that users in the USA will see the name “American Bay”, while both options will be displayed outside the country on the maps.
