The US presidential candidate from the Republican Party Donald Trump threatened Mexico to introduce a 25 percent fee from this country if the Mexican authorities could not stop the influx of illegal migrants in the United States. The corresponding threat to the largest shopping partner of the United States was made at the Trump election rally in North Carolina.
The former US President announced the need to prevent illegal migration from Mexico to the United States.
According to the American politician, Mexico will be one of the first to make a “call.”
“We are captured by Mexico. If they do not stop this onslaught of criminals and drugs to our country, I will immediately introduce a 25 percent tariff for everything that they send to the United States,” he said.
A candidate from the Republican Party noted that in the event of his election to the presidency, a plan regarding duties, has a “100 percent probability of what will work”.
“If this does not work, I will do 50, and if this does not work, I will bring to 75. For the cool guys I will do 100,” he promised.
Many economists believe that the introduction of duties that Trump threatened will have the opposite effect.
During the presidential race in 2016, Trump promised to build a wall on the US border and Mexico and force Mexico to pay for this, but did not fulfill his promises.
