US President Donald Trump said that the rare -earth metals transaction that he will conclude with Kiev will lay the basis for a more stable relationship between the United States and Ukraine in the future. The American leader announced this at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Kirir Seniormer in the White House.
Trump once again noted that the United States spent much more funds on Ukraine than any other country.
“An agreement on rare earth minerals will laid the basis for a more stable relationship between the United States and Ukraine in the future, will help Ukrainians restore the country and will contribute to prosperity in the long term,” he said.
According to the head of the White House, thanks to this agreement, the United States will be accepted by the funds spent so far.
Trump also said that he would meet on Friday in Washington with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, where the signing of the document will be held.
At the same time, answering the question of whether the head of the White House of Zelensky is still a “dictator”, he said that he did not remember to talk about this.
“I have a great respect for Zelensky. We gave him a lot of weapons, and they fought very bravely,” he said.
Commenting on the possibility of applying the fifth article of the NATO Charter about collective security, Trump said that he was not seeing the reasons for it to be applied.
Speaking about trade relations with the UK, Trump announced plans to conclude an “excellent” trading deal with London.
“One way or another, we will make a very good trading deal for both countries,” he said.
Trump noted that he had excellent negotiations on trade with the British Prime Minister, and also expressed hope for the conclusion of the agreement in the near future.
At the same time, he indicated that the United States and Great Britain could sign a real trading agreement in which there would be no need for tariffs.
