Trump: We Do Not Want To Get Involved In Potential War With China

“We do not want to get involved in a potential war with China, but I can say that if this happens, we are very well equipped to cope with it,” said US President Donald Trump about global competition with Beijing.

US President Donald Trump shared his views on the rivalry between the United States and China and the process of ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, giving assessments of the foreign policy agenda on the ceremony in the oval office.

Trump reacted to the message of the New York Times (NYT) newspaper that his senior adviser Ilon Mask was presented “potential plans for the war with China.”

Trump on this occasion said: “We do not want to get involved in a potential war with China, but I can tell you that if it starts, we are very well prepared to deal with it. But we don’t want to show it to anyone. And certainly do not show these plans to a businessman who helps us so much.”

Having stated that during the Mask’s visit to the Pentagon, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) held negotiations on some issues related to the reduction in the staff of the Ministry of Defense, Trump said that the sections about China in the news of NYT are “fabricated”, calling them “fake news.”

According to the president, he will talk to the chairman of China Xi Jinping. Trump said he was open to negotiations on customs duties that the United States will introduce against China.

– Complete truce will come soon

Trump added that he is very hoping for the process of ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, he has very good relations both with Russian President Vladimir Putin and with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

“I believe that we will soon reach an agreement on the ceasefire in many areas. Everything is still very good. So far, a complete ceasefire will come, and then we will sign the agreement. The agreement that negotiates is underway will also touch the issues related to the section of the territory,” he said.

– Without the United States, NATO does not matter

Trump claims that NATO is not in the best shape now. After his presidency, the payment of NATO member countries increased and this is very good for the Alliance.

“NATO is now durable and strong, but partners should be true. Because without us NATO does not matter,” he stressed.
