White House spokeswoman Karolin Livitt said that US President Donald Trump will announce a tariff plan on April 2, which will “turn back the unfair trading practice.”
Speaking to representatives of the press in the White House, Livitt said that Wednesday will become a “day of liberation” in the USA, as President Trump called this event.
Having reported that members of the Cabinet of Ministers will take part in the meeting in the White House at which mutual tariffs will be announced, Livitt added: “The president will announce a tariff plan that will cancel the dishonest trading practice for decades. He does this to protect the interests of American workers.”
The spokeswoman noted that the European Union (EU) introduced a 50 percent tariff for American dairy products, Japan-a 700 percent tariff for American rice, India-a 100 percent tariff for American agricultural products, and Canada is almost 300 percent tariff for American oil and cheese: “This makes the import of American products in these markets and this makes it almost impossible has led to the fact that many Americans have lost their jobs in recent years, ”she said.
