Turkish archaeologists have discovered a ceramic fragment, which has a ceramic fragment, which is supposedly depicting the Anatolian leopard.
The artifact was found during excavations in Hasanakeif, a historical district in the province of Batman in the southeast of Turkey.
Archaeological works was led by Zekayy Erdal from the Department of Art History of the University of Mardin Artuklu. The group headed by him revealed numerous artifacts, including the late Roman “vessels for tears” and the Ceramics of the Islamic period.
According to Erdal, on a fragment of the vessel of the Artukid period is the scene of the battle of animals, possibly with the participation of a leopard. The archaeologist expressed hope to find the missing parts of the artifact during future excavations.
The agency’s interlocutor added that last year, during the year, two “vessels with tears” dated to the 4th century were found in the cemetery east of the Grand Palace. Erdal noted that such vessels are inherent in pre -Christian beliefs.
