Turkey continues negotiations with Russia on the issue of delaying payment for natural gas, said Fatih Donmes, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, on the air of the Habertürk television channel.
According to him, negotiations with Russia continue in many directions.
“We are negotiating in the vein that will be beneficial to us. Now we are talking about postponing payment, and many other issues. At the moment, we did not have negative experience with Russia,” he said.
Donmes noted that “at the moment, the most important issue for all countries is the safety and uninterrupted supply.”
“We have no problems with Russia. Of course, the price also matters, but these are business issues. We will all inform at one time. Botaş company is negotiating with Gazprom, he said.
The minister emphasized that Russia’s proposal to create a gas hub in Turkey is a “certificate of trust” to Ankara.
The head of the Ministry of Energy recalled that “contracts with the Russian Federation have been implemented for many years.”
“Russia became our first supplier even under the late Ozala (Turgut Ozal, the President of Turkey in 1989-1993),” Donmes said.
