In Turkey, tests of the air defense system of domestic development Sİper Product-2, known as the “Steel Dome”, have been successfully tested. This is stated in the report of the Office of the Defense Industry under the Administration of the President of Turkey.
The complex was tested on September 12 at the Sinop test center.
The capabilities of the new products of the Turkish defense industry were tested during fire tests using the Flame Management Center, Data Transfer channel, Rocket launch systems and Sİper Product-2.
According to the head of the Office of the Office of Turkey, Haluk Hergun, the Sİper project is a restraining power of the “steel dome” at a long -range radius and high altitude. The system allows you to ensure air defense of strategic objects at high range and has an extensive architecture against enemy attacks within the framework of regional air defense.
Hergun said that the Sİper system is able to hit such air targets as fighters, cruise missiles and shells of the Air-Surface class. It is also planned to conduct studies aimed at defeating ballistic missiles.
